Whatever it is, I'll probably find it interesting (until I get distracted by something else)
~No longer in my 20's
~White (of Scottish/Welsh/Swedish smushage)
~BA in Anthropology (and I have the loan to prove it)
These were my incoming packages on Monday. :)
Thank you cloverxclover for the Dragon Quest items, the socks, and the Curry ramen! :D
Dragon Warrior I & II was an ebay purchase, I just need GBC DWIII and GBC DWMII - Tara’s Adventure and I have every standard release Dragon Quest/Warrior game ever released in the US! Whooo so nerdy don’t care slimes4life
Christmas time at our house this year means steamcleaning the carpet. I couldn’t sew today because my stuff is on a oak island in the center of soggy carpet :<
On the plus side, my old Sony Vaio, which had been passed on to intergalacticju, does appear to be alive again. My dad found some brand new compatible RAM sticks buried in his desk, and they appear to have done the trick. Until I accidentally used an OEM WinXP disk to fix a retail install. Now the computer won’t activate. ^^; Ah well, XP installs all around~
I sometimes think I need a bigger desk. This could also be called Where antiquated tech comes to die. There’s now a semi-busted laptop and an old desktop (which works fine, it’s just 10 years old xD; ) sitting downstairs waiting for judgement. The desktop will probably be put on the curb with a note, the laptop…who knows. Probably recycling.
One of the longest lasting touches of anime fandom in my room. I purchased the official Sorcerous Stabber Orphen necklace at Anime Expo 2000, and I would wear it on occasion for several years before it really just became a permanent decoration on my wall. It was my first really big anime purchase that wasn’t DVDs, I think…I believe I paid close to $40 for it (which was like 1/3 of my budget that year ::laughs::) Memoriiies~
Also appearing in this picture, my AX08 admission, my United States of Odaiba admission, and a wonderful crocheted ornament by cloverxclover that I soaked in liquefied Solvy to stiffen. :)
Mandarake is probably the biggest used anime/manga goods seller on the planet. Usually, their knowledge about this shit is impeccable. So, I felt extremely nerdy to realize that they had mislabeled a cel on their auction. xD
The info states that it is from Fortune Quest L, which you can see the opening to here:
…it’s not. xD; It’s from Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, which I have a serious soft spot for (and, considering it ran in some form for over 2 seasons, you think they would get it right.)
Feel free to pursue SSO here, the animation for the original series was fantastic, and I totally have Orphen’s bitching necklace :P :
I have now had my “I am a 90’s animu fan dork” moment of the day.
I thought some of you might find this interesting. :D
I’m currently doing a test run of “Big” Sherlock (about 6” tall) and I decided to film the machine working for a minute. When I used to sell these machines, people would always stop and stare at the embroidery machines when they walked by them, and I admit, I still do it now. ::laughs:: He’ll take about a hour to run, +/- 10min or so.
I started with a smaller version of Jackie sans text, only to discover that my bobbin tension was completely outta wack. So after some fiddling with a screwdriver, I ran big Jackie (plus the random text :P,) and basically, minus a few very minor spacing problems, he turned out pretty much perfect :D
