…and the reason I know about the bath oil? I have the box set. xD I had wanted it as long as I had known about it, and while ogling over the coffee cup set, which was being sold separately at Nakano Mandarake back in May 2011, one of the employees let me know that they had more Eroica stuff, and they emerged from the back with THIS.
::happy sigh:: All still sealed, including the Nescafe. :P -
artfulhermes replied to your post: 11,16,21.11. your logic is sound! I know little to nothing of relationships, myself. Where would you wanna go after you graduate? 21. Thats the only Oasis song I have XD.Well I’m going to apply to JET, but JET or no JET I’m going back to Portland or Vancouver WA once I graduate and can get myself up there. It’s like the further south you go the meaner almost everyone gets, I’ve just gotten to the point where I can’t see myself staying here willingly if I don’t have to.
Hahah it’s a great song, seriously. Do you use Spotify, btw? I barely ever open iTunes anymore, Spotify is pretty near perfect.
Sweet. I always kinda wondered what the JET experience was like. what country would you wanna go to? Also, I know what you mean about the further south you go. I always wanted to visit Seattle.
I pretty much stick with itunes. It took me a long time to organize my music collection the way I like, and I use my ipod pretty much every day when I’m going to and from work. One day I’ll give spotify a shot, one day.Well, JET only does Japan (Japanese Exchange & Teaching Programme). Seattle is ok but I wasn’t a huge fan when I went there, it’s VERY grimy. It’s a lot like LA, except with rain. Busy, crowded, dirty, and wet. There’s probably some good things too, but I wasn’t there long enough to see them.
Spotify can import your itunes so that it’s in your sidebar exactly like it is in your itunes, only with the search bar connecting you to music you don’t own. You should give it a shot.
Spotify can actually do that!? Waaaaattt!? I had no idea… dang. I should definitely take a look into that.
Yeah! Just make sure you have “show files from iTunes” checked in the preferences and it will import them in the same way that you have them set up in iTunes. :D BEHOLD. TECHNOLOGY!
Am I seeing mentions of JET? ::is nosey::

tokyo accommodation recommendations?
hey y’all! I’m heading to tokyo next year for around a week, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to suggest a good place to stay? I’ve been looking online but it’s… overwhelming. and accommodation is one of those things that really benefit from IRL experience anyway. I’m looking for single rooms with wifi, not super budget but not the ritz haha
thanks if anyone can help! or knows a good place to find accommodation!! or has anything to suggest I do in tokyo/kyoto/nagasaki/hiroshima/gunma/gifu/osaka (it’s a loooong trip…)
For Tokyo:
Oak Hotel or Toyoko Inn, unless you are looking for high end accommodations. :)
http://www.oakhotel.co.jp/english/
http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/
Oak Hotel is about a 2-4 minute walk from Inaricho Station on the Ginza Subway line, or about 10-15min walk from JR Ueno, which is a major hub station in Tokyo. Probably spent a total of almost a month there in 5 visits over an almost 4 year period.
I’m not positive on wifi at Oak, I do know they have hardwired high-speed connections at Toyoko Inns, though.
Kyoto:
Toyoko Inn again, but if you want to shell out for a fancier place near a major monument (Nijo Castle, and the hotel is across the street from there, and right next to Nijojomae station) the ANA Hotel Kyoto is very nice, but again, no clue on the wifi. I used a hardwired connection there.
If you decide to go to northern Kyoto Prefecture, shoot me a line, I lived there for 3 years. :) I can tell you all sorts of stuff.
Osaka:
Only ever stayed in a Toyoko Inn, about 10min walk from Osaka Station. Worked out well, though :)
Hiroshima:
Crashed on a friend’s floor, so I’m no help for hotels. Depends on what you plan to do there on where you want to stay.
I’d offer ideas for things to do, but how long is your trip? And what are you looking to do? Traditional culture? Buying out Akihabara? Visiting the three scenic views of Japan? Izakaya hopping? :P

My wonderful friend Erica over in Tokyo helped me get a few things from the Avengers preorder. :) They got here today, and she even sent the bag they came in! :D
The BRUTUS came with an 8 postcard set, and Hulk was a standard preorder phone strap. As I have the Iron Man (JP Iron Man 2 preorder) Thor (duh) and Captain America (ditto) Kewpie phone straps, I asked her to pick up the strap I don’t have one of in some form already. :)
The magazine and the postcards are pretty darn nifty. :3

At Nara, Japan this morning in the rain - saw this kid sharing his umbrella with a deer… melted my heart :) - Imgur
Dude, whenever I go to Nara the deer are always just lazing around like big blobs cuz they’re so full of senbei. But then when I go to Miyajima and see those deer, they’re like vicious beasts out to eat all your maps and clothes.
The deer in Nara ate my map and my Uhura keychain xD They can be pretty spry when they want to. :P

Found this while browsing for JR train jingles. It looks rather familiar… :P

Items going up for sale on the second wave of EBay sales I’m doing, probably going up either tomorrow or Sunday. You might sense a theme. ;)
I had originally planned to have one of every Strawhat crew member + Ace, but I was never able to get my hands on a Nami POP I liked for retail price (kept getting skunked in the preorders) and I need the funds. So I’m parting with everyone but my Luffy and Ace POPs (I also have a Luffy POP Mild that I’m keeping, he was a gift.)I also have a Japan-exclusive Hello Kitty suitcase and Tote Bag going up, as well as one of the wackiest video game promo items ever made, and Princess, a 1st Edition TY beanie baby!
Last but not least, I’m going to try and sell my HC collection of the brilliantly done Forgotten Realms graphic novels, all of which are OOP. If these don’t sell, I’m keeping them. :P

Goodbyes
Did my farewell speech in both Japanese and English at the assembly this morning, only fumbled the Japanese a little. Go me. :D No crying, but I definitely feel a bit… melancholic right now. 3 years…it doesn’t feel like that long.
…I’m certainly not going to miss the humidity, though. :P

Everything but the TV, as it’s still undecided whether I’m taking it home with me. Obviously, I’m not done with the shipping marks. :P This is right at 1.5m3.

STUFF
I have a successor! :D She’s from Wales, it looks like, and she’s yooooung. Ah well, I was young once myself. ;)
Saw both Thor and X-Men on Saturday, both were very awesome in their own way. :D I wouldn’t mind seeing either again in the theater, but sadly, no time/money to do so. Yay for future blu-ray release? :P

A very short summary of my life in Japan
Live three years in Japan:
Study Japanese? Blah. I’ll learn by osmosis (which works better for spoken, I’ll tell you.)
Suddenly start buying Cyber Formula doujinshi two months before leaving:
WHAT’S THIS KANJI OH FUCK ::researches::

X-Men
Oh fandom, I haven’t seen the movie yet, and I’m already getting slammed by y’all. :P Snow is mostly to blame, of course.
I may end up doubling it with Thor on July 2nd, depends on funds. That would be a lovely Marvel-filled day, yes? xD
-

Yeah, totally gonna be mine :D

Spaghetti for luuunch
Snowdarkred, I’d totes be commenting on your video, but I’m at work. You know that. :P
In other news, had to pull 1万円 from the Post account, as I’m flat broke in my main account. I shall substantiate pulling from the trips and moving fund by buying moving boxes with some of it. xD;

A pointless post…
Snowdarkred is a meanie. :P
In other news, it’s time for lunch. 28C today! Hottest day so far this year~
